Our Teachers

In addition to the teachers below, we have a number of other teachers who teach classes for our online school MYC Iyengar Yoga Online. This includes internationally recognised teachers Gulnaaz Dashti and Stephanie Quirk.

    Arabella Lee

    Arabella is currently undertaking the teacher mentoring program with Simon. She has previously completed the Indepth Course with Simon in 2018. She teaches General classes and regularly covers classes at the Centre.

    Caitlin O’Leary

    Caitlin is a long term student of MYC. She is currently undertaking the teacher mentoring program with Simon. She has previously completed the In depth Course with Simon in 2018. She teaches the Begin andGeneral classes and also regularly covers classes at the Centre.

    Dannie Andrews

    Dannie became a certified Iyengar teacher in 2022 after completing both the Indepth course and teacher mentoring program with Simon. Dannie teaches Senior and General classes and regularly assists Therapy classes at The Centre.

    Florence Chiew

    Florence became a certified Iyengar teacher in 2021 after completing the teacher mentoring program with Simon the same year.

    Hasu Opa-Clark

    Hasu brings a broad experience of teaching from children, beginners, experienced students and her ongoing work and passion for yoga therapy. Trained by Pixie Lillas she now continues her ongoing professional development with Stephanie Quirk travelling and assisting Stephanie in her delivery of the understanding of yoga therapy. Hasu regularly studies with the Iyengar family in Pune, India. Hasu is a certified Iyengar Teacher; Hasu teaches online classes from her home on Gadigal Land in Sydney, Australia.

    Jesse Chick

    Jesse is currently undertaking the teacher mentoring program with Simon. She has previously completed the Indepth Course with Simon in 2018. She teaches General classes and regularly covers classes at the Centre.

    Madison Chippendale

    Madison started at Marrickville Yoga Centre as the studio manager in 2016. She became a certified Iyengar teacher in 2021 after completing both the 2018 Indepth Course and the teacher mentoring program with Simon. She teaches General Classes at the Centre.

    Meg Cooke

    Meg’s classes are dynamic, engaging & fun. She is currently undertaking the teacher mentoring program with Simon. She teaches Begin classes at the Centre.

    Robyn Lowe

    Robyn is a dedicated, steady and long term practitioner and student of the Centre. Robyn assists the Yoga Therapy class & teaches both in person and online classes at The Centre. Robyn is a certified Iyengar teacher and also studies with the Iyengar family in Pune, India.

    Simon Joannou

    Simon is a full time strong dynamic teacher. Simon has studied at RIYMI in Pune, India with the Iyengar family on a regular basis over many years. Simon was initially trained by Pixie Lillas and in 2015 Simon completed a three year Course with Stephanie Quirk in Therapeutic Yoga that informs his therapy work and general classes. Simon continues a close relationship with Stephanie and has been assisting her Therapy courses in Asia. Simon is a Certified Iyengar Teacher, he runs a mentoring program from Marrickville Yoga centre on Gadigal Land.

    Veronica is currently undertaking the teacher mentoring program with Simon. She has previously completed the Indepth Course with Simon in 2018. She teaches the Begin classes and also regularly covers classes at the Centre.
