Some of us start yoga because we are looking for an alternative to other forms of exercise, some of us want to better manage the stresses of daily life, and some of us have an injury or an illness to deal with and start up yoga in the hope of working towards recovery.
If you practice yoga regularly, you’ll know the great benefits it can bring to your life. If you are looking to deepen your practice and gain knowledge about the philosophy of Iyengar Yoga, the In-Depth Yoga Course offers a structured program focussing on the practical and philosophical aspects of Yoga.
Taking place over eight weekends, the In-Depth Yoga Course is a great opportunity to challenger yourself, enrich your practice, and take a step further into your personal journey of self-discovery.
This course focuses upon developing a deep understanding of the practice of asana and pranayama, which is strongly underpinned by an exploration of yoga philosophy throughout each weekend. This course forms the first year of teacher mentoring for those pursuing yoga teaching.
In-Depth Yoga Study combines practical sessions, self-reflection and group discussions, with academic study in order to foster a more meaningful understanding of yoga practice and principles. Emphasis is also placed upon experiencing and taking the role of the yoga practitioner.

The structure of the weekends is:
Thursdays: 4-6pm Yoga therapy (optional)
Fridays: 5.30pm -8.00pm
Saturdays: 3.30 – 7 pm
Sundays: 7- 9am practise session & 1-4pm Theory/ practical workshops.
COST
The cost of the course is $250.00 per weekend. A $500 deposit is required to enrol in the program. Please get in touch with us to discuss your payment options.

Teacher Mentoring & The In-Depth Yoga Course.
Before we become teachers of Yoga, we need to become practitioners. We need to understand the subject of Yoga from a physical, emotional and philosophical perspective.
The In-Depth Yoga Course forms the foundation of the development for students wanting to embark on Teacher Mentoring. Students wishing to go on to train as an Iyengar Yoga Teacher can continue their professional development and training with Simon, working towards accreditation with the Iyengar Association of Australia which is recognised as an International certification.
Many people who undertake the In-depth Yoga Course do not wish to follow it with Teacher Training. They choose to do the Course for the development of their own personal practice.
