In studying therapeutics, teachers return once again to learn. They learn with one another and share information, notes, and experiences.
– Stephanie Quirk
2019 Mentorships with Stephanie
Time: 3pm-6pm, Thursdays throughout Therapy term.
The mentorship runs in Therapy sessions throughout the year. Participants will need to arrive to start at 3pm for Q & A and discussion with Stephanie Quirk, followed by working alongside Stephanie in Therapy from 4- 6pm. The mentorship sessions will be held on all dates that Stephanie Quirk is facilitating Therapy.
In 2019 Certified Iyengar Yoga Teachers or teachers in training will have the opportunity to take part in a unique Free Mentorship Program with Stephanie Quirk.
This Program gives certified teachers the opportunity to work closely with Stephanie throughout the year. The Program is open to a small number of Certified Iyengar Teachers or trainees who are looking to deepen their understanding in the area of yoga therapeutics. Those attending the mentorship will be expected to commit to attending the Yoga Therapy class throughout the year, even when Stephanie Quirk is not in attendance, and the three Friday Asana classes & Sunday Workshops that Stephanie offers as these feed into the work of Therapy.
Working closely with Stephanie and a student with specific illness or injury participants will learn how to:
- Begin the Yoga Therapeutic process with a new student
- Tailor specific Yoga Therapy programs for individual needs
- Assess the effectiveness of a given sequence and implement modifications
- Progress the student towards a more independent approach to yoga over time
- Treat a wide range of conditions and ailments within a Yoga Therapy setting
The Mentorship program is a free mentorship and runs for the year. Spaces for the Mentorship Program are limited and will fill quickly. Contact us at info@marrickvilleyoga.com.au to register your interest and arrange an interview with Simon to apply. The Mentorships will be run in conjunction with the regular Yoga Therapy Classes at The Centre on Thursdays.
