Good books on Iyengar yoga: postures, benefits, & transformation
Here’s some useful eBooks on Iyengar yoga.
You can read these via the Kindle app that Amazon provides for free for any type of computer, including tablets and smart phones.
The app is a low cost and convenient way to get some more background on yoga, specific information about poses, or learn the benefits of particular postures.
There’s also a wide range of material about the transformative, mental and health aspects of yoga.
BYS Iyengar was a prolific author for many decades. Unfortunately, many of his classics are not yet available as eBooks. You can find them on Amazon if you’d like to buy the hard copies. You can also browse some of them at the Marrickville Yoga Centre.

Iyengar’s wisdom on life and yoga

Short essays by senior teachers around the world
Iyengar: The Yoga Master is a series of 2-4 page essays about Iyengar and the yoga he taught. Many of the essays are by senior teacher, including several Australians. Among them is Pixie Lillas from Balmain Yoga.

It’s an easy place to get the exact names of many of the postures you may practice regularly but never be sure how to pronounce!
